The 49-year-old is least surprised that Jolie took the decision to go public about her surgery, reported E! Online.
"That's who I fell in love with from the very beginning. The person that you see now is the person that I've always known and she's heroic and incredibly strong and will attack any problem head-on and make it work," Pitt said.
Jolie made her first public appearance after the operation at the premiere of Pitt's film 'World War Z'.
Last month, Jolie had both of her breasts surgically removed to reduce her chance of contracting breast cancer.
