Animal activist demands arrest of singer Abhijeet

An animal activist here today demanded immediate arrest of singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya for his controversial comments yesterday after the court verdict on Bollywood actor Salman Khan's hit and run case, saying the statement communicates adverse message to the society.
Babu Lal Jaju in a statement here said he has written to the Animal Welfare Board of India, Chennai, seeking action against the singer.
Jaju said the insensitive statement encourages those who drive vehicles in drunken state and also encourages killing of dogs on road.
Another activist yesterday gave a written complaint against Bhattacharya to Jhotwara police station here seeking an FIR though the complaint was kept for a probe and no case was registered.
"Kutta rd pe soyega kutte ki maut marega, roads garib ke baap ki nahi hai I ws homles an year nvr slept on rd," Abhijeet had tweeted yesterday after the verdict, which invited sharp reaction and criticism.
