The prototype of the special coach proposed in this year's Rail Budget to provide high-level comfort to travellers, will be ready in the current financial year, a senior Railway Ministry official said.
It has been proposed to keep the fare 60 per cent higher than the prevailing executive chair car in Shatabdi trains.
Anubhuti, the first of its kind modern LHB coach with ergonomically designed cushioned seats, LCD screens, modular toilets and world class interiors is estimated to cost about Rs 3.25 crore, Rs 60 lakh more than the regular LHB coach.
Earlier, there were plans to have only 50 seats but later it was increased to 56, keeping the ticketing cost in mind.
"But we have tried for better utilisation of space by providing coffee and cold drink dispenser, RO water, special attendant in uniform and calling bell facility," he said.
The interiors have been specifically designed to provide a pleasing ambience.
Food including continental and Indian will be provided in a most hygienic way, the official added.
Railways has plan for rolling out 10 state-of-the-art Anubhuti coaches.
