"The day the BJP tries to throttle democracy it would drop the axe on its own feet," Kumar said on social media account.
Expressing himself strongly against early dissolution of Bihar Assembly, Kumar expressed his apprehension about such an eventuality citing statements by the BJP leaders.
Election should not be held frequently and government should work and election should be held on time, he said.
"Majority is with us," Kumar, for whom letters of support were submitted to Raj Bhawan during the day by JD(U), RJD, Congress, CPI and an independent totalling 130 MLAs.
In a divided decision taken at the cabinet meeting yesterday beleagured Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was asked to take "appropriate decision" on dissolution of the Assembly.
