With Singapore expected to come out with the master plan for Andhra Pradesh's new capital city in few days, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is embarking on a two-day visit of that country beginning tomorrow.
Naidu will take off for Singapore this evening.
The chief minister will begin his day tomorrow with a breakfast meeting with Singapore's Minister of Foreign Affairs K Shanmugam and Ambassadorat-Large Gopinath Pillai, followed by a high-level meeting with Singapore's Second Minister for Trade and Industry S Iswaran.
After a lunch hosted by Iswaran, Naidu, along with the AP delegation, will take part in a business seminar where several businessmen and industrialists will meet him, an official release said.
The CM will then attend a meeting on solid waste management which will be followed by signing of an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
On March 31, Naidu will meet emeritus senior minister Goh Chok Tong. He will then go around Bishan Park and Toa Payoh Town which is an integrated transport hub, and commercial and civic space.
He will also visit an industrial estate and have an experiential learning journey in one of Singapore's townships, the release said.
The Singapore government is preparing the master plan for the construction of the capital city and will submit it in June.
As per the draft master plan, the proposed capital region will be spread across approximately 7,325 sq km within the Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalgiri limits. The core capital will extend up to 125 sq kmS.
In the 33,000 acres of procured land, the government will first develop the core capital by 2018.
The chief minister will visit Ascendas Science Park and depart for Hyderabad from Changi Airport on March 31 evening, the release added.
