Four of family killed, three injured in mishap

: Four of a family were killed on the spot and three injured when the tourist van in which they were travelling collided with a private bus at the Ayyampettai-Mathur diversion road this morning.
The bus was on its way to this town from Kumbakonam while the van was coming from Namakkal when the mishap occurred, police said.
They said occupants of the van were on a tour of temples in and around Kumbakonam town when they met with the accident.
All the injured, including one in serious condition, have been hospitalised.
Meanwhile angered at the bus driver reportedly driving the vehicle rashly, locals pelted stones at the vehicle, smashing its windscreen and headlights.
