Army jawan shoots self in Kashmir

An army jawan, posted at the Srinagar headquarter of the force, allegedly committed suicide this evening by shooting himself with his service rifle, police said.
Sepoy Sukhandar Singh of 7RR, who was on duty at the KM Gate, Gupkar Road of Badamibagh Cantonment, which houses the Chinar Corps, shot himself with his service rifle this evening, a police official said, adding he died on the spot.
After completing all the legal formalities, the body has been handed over to his concerned unit, the official said, adding a case has been registered.
