Artist Forum's initiative for Nepal quake victims

In solidarity with the Nepal quake victims, the West Bengal Motion Picture Artists' Forum members today took part in a friendly exhibition match in the city, the first-ever initiative by the Tolly brigade.
Popular actors-singers and forum executive committee members Shankar Chakraborty, Arindam Ganguly, Kaushik Sen, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Abhishek Chatterjee took to the field while June Malia, Dolon Roy and Manali Dey gave vocal support from the stands.
The celebrities locked horns with the champion team of a three-day football tournament which concluded yesterday.
"We will continue the initiative in future with more funds for the quake-hit," a forum member said after a cheque for Rs 50,001, raised at the venue, was handed over to the local councillor as donation to the city Mayor's Nepal relief Fund by the forum.

The combined death toll in the two devastating earthquakes that struck Nepal since April 25 mounted to 8,635 with over 300 people, including foreigners, still missing.
