"Several financial anomalies have been detected in the implementation of several Central schemes in the state," Sonowal said while addressing a rally here today.
The state government has not submitted utilisation certificates in several schemes being implemented following which the Centre has reduced or stopped central funds in some cases, he said.
"The BJP government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to provide a corruption free India in every sphere of governance," Sonowal said.
"This situation must change and for this the BJP must be brought to the helm of affairs in the Council so that we can ensure development in central Assam," the Union Minister said.
Elections to the 30-member Tiwa Autonomous Council is scheduled for August 19.
