An Australian tourist, who lost his bag containing his passport and e-cards here a couple of days ago, was all praise for the police who recovered the bag and returned it to him today.
On July 25, the tourist Jack Lawrence was taking a stroll on the beach road, when he lost his bag, police said.
Yesterday, two policemen found the bag lying on the beach road and handed it over to their higher officials.
Later, the superintendent of police contacted the tourist and handed over the bag to him.
The Australian's joy knew no bounds upon getting his bag and thanked the police personnel.
On learning about the incident, Territorial Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi, who was formerly an IPS officer, appreciated the policemen for their good work of restoring the bag to its owner.
