The ruling National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir today said it strongly favours restoration of autonomy to the state as this remains the bedrock of its policy and agenda.
"The party will strive hard to ensure that the autonomy report is implemented," an NC spokesman said after a public meeting addressed by its leaders in opposition PDP stronghold of Wacchi in south Kashmir.
The leaders advocated restoration of autonomy to the state saying "this remains the bedrock of its policy and and agenda".
They asked people to brace themselves for next year's assembly election in the state.
"This is the time you have to make the party strong as 2014 is the election year," NC provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani said.
Referring to PDP, he said he has no doubt the people of Wacchi will give a befitting reply to NC's adversaries and expose their "false" propaganda.
"NC is a vibrant force in all the three regions and people have full faith in the leadership of Omar Abdullah," Wani said.
NC leader Mehboob Beg said the leadership of the party never cares for power and has state's interest uppermost in its mind.
Social Welfare Minister Sakina Itoo said the public cause and state's interest have been close to National Conference and its leadership.
MoS (Home) Sajad Ahmed Kichloo said the state government under the leadership of Omar Abdullah has taken path-breaking development initiatives.
