The 28-year-old bass vocalist Kaplan said he had been struggling with the decision for a while, reported Variety.
In the clip, he was accompanied by his fellow bandmates: Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, Kevin Olusola and Kirstin Maldonado.
Kaplan said a large part of the pop group's success is due to the fast pace of their engagements, and that throughout his time with it, he has had a hard time coping with the inability to see his friends and family when he needed to.
Kaplan, who sang bass for the group, said he will continue to create music. He added that he will still be performing in all of their upcoming tour dates.
