"The outfit (RSS) is busy in implementing its agenda of creating hatred among communities. They are trying to create similar circumstances in the country that led to the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948," he told reporters here.
The Uttar Pradesh minister noted that the RSS should be banned, as was done by the Nehru government after Mahatma Gandhi's assassination.
Hitting out at the Modi government, Khan said that the Centre was hell bent upon unleashing fringe elements in the society after they lost power in Delhi and Bihar.
"After loosing Delhi and Bihar electoral battles, the saffron outfits are contemplating that it can recapture its lost citadels only by playing hate politics," he said.
The SP leader also expressed his displeasure over Hindu Mahashabha leader Kamlesh Tiwari's recent outburst against Prophet Mohammed.
"He (Tiwari) is a behuda (rude). My culture does not allow me to respond to his claims," Khan said.
The Hindutva activist had targeted madrasa institutions and also made a statement against the Prophet in response to a statement by Khan against the RSS.
The SP leader reportedly called RSS activists "gay".
