"I shall attend the foundation day function of the NDRF in the national capital in October to express my gratitude to the force for lending a helping hand to the state government in dealing with the after-effects of the mid June calamity," Bahuguna told reporters here today.
He will also pay tribute to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel who died in a chopper crash while rescuing people stranded in the high altitude areas of the state after the tragedy.
Apart from assisting in rescue operations, NDRF also contributed in debris cleaning and disposal of bodies in Kedar valley after the disaster which finally led to the resumption of prayers at the Himalayan shrine on September 11.
It is also offering technical support to the state government in defining the functions of State Disaster Response Force constituted to deal with natural calamities in future.
