City public prosecutor M L Jegan submitted in the Principal Sessions court that Krishnamoorthy, who filed the plea, was not duly authorised by Ram Kumar through a 'Vakkalath.'
He made the submission when Krishnamoorty appeared on behalf of Ram Kumar, accused in the murder of IT employee Swathi, as the bail plea came up for hearing.
The public prosecutor also brought to the notice of the court claims made by the advocate in the media.
Judge Jeyachandran directed the advocate to file a reply to the objections raised by the public prosecutor.
Ram Kumar allegedly murdered the 24-year-old Swathi in broad daylight on June 24 at Nungambakkam railway station here.
