Additional District and Sessions Judge D K Garg yesterday rejected the bail plea of the accused Deepak Kumar while noting that similar pleas of other co-accused were rejected by the High Court earlier.
Kumar along with some others had allegedly hacked to death Mahardeen and burnt his house at Lank village in the district on September 8, 2013.
Police had registered a case against several people in this connection.
Meanwhile, nine absconding persons wanted in separate riot cases were arrested here last evening and produced in a court here which sent them to 14 day judicial custody.
Over 60 persons were killed and more than 40,000 displaced in communal violence in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas in September last year.
