Traders attributed the fall in base metal prices to a weak global trend as the Federal Reserve's decision to end its bond-purchase programme strengthened the dollar, reducing the appeal of commodities as an alternative investment.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months fell 0.5 per cent to USD 6,778.25 a metric tonne in the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4x4) fell by Rs 2 and Rs 4 to 433 and Rs 1,084-1,090 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot 116-122, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,084-1,090, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 433, Chadri deshi 285.
