Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said the BJP had a habit of "taking credit" for the work done by the Congress.
Addressing a public meeting at Killar in the Pangi sub- division of district Chamba, Virbhadra asked voters to be vigilant and not fall prey to the "nefarious designs" of the BJP during the upcoming Assembly polls.
He announced that the state government had identified land at Sarol for construction of a medical college which would be named after Jawaharlal Nehru.
He also said the government would construct hostels for both boys and girls of government schools at Dharwas and Purthi, and another hostel for girls at Saach.
The Chief Minister assured the people that the government would look into setting up a solar plant in Pangi valley and said the construction of hydel power projects would be considered after conducting a survey.
"Pangi has witnessed a revolution in terms of development. There was a time when the area had no access to roads," he said.
He said till date, the total road length in the valley was 271 kilometres, excluding 58 kilometres of road length constructed by the Border Roads Organisation.
Besides, he said that Rs 29 crore had been spent on roads, bridges and buildings in the valley during the last four and half years by his government.
