Pop star Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles has revealed that her decision to marry Richard Lawson came after her grand-daughter Blue Ivy Carter pushed them to get married.
Tina, 61, tied the knot with the 68-year-old actor earlier this month and she said that the idea came in September last year, reported People magazine.
"In September we went on a boat with Beyonce and Jay-Z and when we came out one night dressed to go to dinner, Blue said, 'Oh, you all look beautiful. When are you all getting married?'" Tina recalled.
"Richard said, 'Oh, Blue, soon. Do you approve?'"
Tina and Richard tied the knot on Sunday, April 12 on a super yacht cruising around Newport Beach, California. On the boat that holds 300 capacity, Beyonce and his husband Jay-Z were seen onboard.
Other relatives that included Solange Knowles and Blue were also spotted joining the lovely wedding party.
Tina said that she didn't think she would get married again after separating from Matthew Knowles in 2011, but things have changed.
"There was a time when I doubted I would find love again. But I was determined to be happy and God sent somebody into my life. You can find love at any age. You just have to go for it."
At her wedding party, Tina wore a white Romona Keveza gown. She also asked all people in attendance to dress in white.
