Bilal Asif to fly Chennai next week for biomechanical test

Bilal Asif, Pakistan's latest spinner to be reported for his bowling action by the ICC match officials, will undergo a bowling assessment test in Chennai on Monday
Chief selector Haroon Rasheed said that since Asif had to undergo tests within 14-days after his action was reported by match officials in Zimbabwe dates were only available at the Chennai academy.
"Dates were available at the centre in Chennai so Asif will fly there on the 19th," Rasheed a former test batsman said.
Asif an off-spinner and batsman saw his bowling action reported after he took five wickets in the third one-day international in Zimbabwe earlier this month.

Under the International Cricket Council (ICC) rules a bowler is required to clear bio-mechanical tests within 14-days to get cleared.
If tests find Asif is bending his elbow more than the allowed 15 degree limit by the ICC, then he will be suspended and will have to undergo remedial work on his action.

Rasheed said the Pakistan Board had already applied for a visa to the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
"If he gets his visa on time he will leave on the 19th," he added.
Before Asif, who was also in line to feature in the Tests against England in the UAE, the ICC has already reported the bowling actions of Saeed Ajmal and Muhammad Hafeez while another Pakistani off-spinner Adnan Rasool had his action reported during the Champions League in India last year.

Saeed Ajmal's and Mohammad Hafeez's actions were reported last year after they played in Sri Lanka and UAE.
Although Ajmal's bowling action has been cleared in February but he has struggled to make an impact with his modified action and is presently confined to playing domestic cricket at home.
Hafeez was reported for the first time in November last year and then in July this year after which he failed a bowling test in Chennai and is now suspended from bowling in international cricket for 12-months.
