West Midnapore district will be the first to implement the system within two weeks and West Bengal will be the second state after undivided Andhra Pradesh to introduce it to weed out corruption in fund disbursal, Mukherjee told the Assembly.
It will be implemented in all districts subsequently, he said, replying to demand for Budgetary grants for the Panchayats and Rural Development Department.
The minister said that in terms of percentage of labour budget achieved, West Bengal ranked first among all the states in 2012-13.
Mukherjee said that till February 2014, an expenditure of Rs 3,050 crore has been incurred and by the end of the fiscal, it is expected to be around Rs 4,500 crore.
