BJP ally Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) today slammed senior JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar for joining hands with RJD in whose rule hundreds of committed Samata party workers were killed and announced a month-long yatra to counter his state-wide yatra starting next month.
"For sake of power Kumar has joined hands with RJD in whose regime hundreds of Samata Party workers were killed, and in their honour party would launch a state-wide 'Shradhanjali rath yatra' from November 8," RLSP General Secretary Arun Kumar, MP, said.
RLSP headed by Union minister of State Upendra Kushwaha is a partner of BJP in NDA.
Kushwaha and Kumar were part of Samata Party. The duo later left with Kumar launching their own outfit RLSP and having entered into tie-up with BJP. The party won three Lok Sabha seats in recent general elections.
Kumar is all set to launch 16-day "Samparak yatra" from November 13 ahead of Assembly polls next year and "expose" BJP particularly on the issue of special category status to the state as promised by Narendra Modi in his campaign.
Arun Kumar, the RLSP MP from Jehanabad, said nearly 300 leaders and workers of Samata Party had been killed during rule of RJD which the opponents had described as "jungle raj."
"RLSP will not let their sacrifice go waste by allowing return of jungle raj in the state by Kumar in partnership with Lalu Prasad," he said.
The RLSP leader said that Kumar is trying to "befool" public through his Samparak yatra.
