BJP, Cong spar over demonetisation in Delhi

The BJP and the Congress sparred on the streets of Delhi over the impact of demonetisation today, the first anniversary of the decision.
The All India Unorganised Workers Congress held a protest at the Vivekananda Park.
Addressing the gathering, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Maken alleged that demonetisation "drastically" affected income and employment opportunities for unorganised sector workers in the country.
The Congress observed the first anniversary of demonetisation as 'Black Day' across the country.
The Congress's youth, student and women wings staged a joint protest.
"Our honourable Prime Minister asked for 50 days and had promised that everything would be good or precisely back to normal. But in spite of giving him 365 days nothing has happened and all that we hear are hollow promises, jargon and slogans," said a statement of Indian Youth Congress.

The BJP, which observed the day as "anti-black money day", took out marches in all districts. Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari participated in marches at various places.
"The coming generation of India will never forgive leaders such as Rahul Gandhi (of Congress), Arvind Kejriwal (of AAP) and Mamata Banerjee (of Trinamool Congress) who are hindering efforts by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build a transparent economic system and strong India," Tiwari said.
