BJP in the state today accused the Mamata Banerjee government of not cooperating with central agencies investigating the Burdwan blast and demanded a statement from the chief minister on the October 2 incident in which two suspected terrorists were killed.
"We demand a statement from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the Burdwan blast. Why is she mum on this incident? What vested interests are stopping her from handing over the investigation of the blast to NIA?" state BJP president Rahul Sinha asked.
Sinha alleged that the state agencies were not cooperating with the central agencies in the investigation of the blast.
"It is astonishing that an incident of such a magnitude has occurred which had implications on national security. The state agencies are not cooperating with the central agencies in the investigations of the blast. What is the state regime trying to hide?"
He also alleged that "appeasement policies of the state regime has led to mushrooming of terrorist activities in the state."
BJP, he said, will take out a rally tomorrow in Burdwan and Kolkata to protest the blast and demand NIA investigation into it.
