BJP demonstrates outside WB Assembly

The BJP state unit today demonstrated outside the gate of the WB Assembly demanding a CBI investigation into the Jalpaiguri child trafficking case.
BJP workers protested outside the Assembly premises with flags and shouted slogans.
Juhi Chowdhury, a general secretary of the BJP Mahila Morcha was arrested by the CID last week for her alleged involvement in the child trafficking case.
The BJP state unit on March 1 had removed Juhi from all party posts till investigations were over.
"The CID is trying to frame BJP leaders. Only a CBI investigation can bring out the truth. We think the state government should hand over the case to the CBI," WB BJP general secretary Pratap Banerjee said.

BJP state president Dilip Ghosh had yesterday hit out at the Trinamool Congress government and a section of the media for trying to tarnish the party's image by linking party leaders with the child trafficking case.
Ghosh had also accused the CID of trying to frame the BJP leaders in the case.
