BJP's Sonaram files nomination from Barmer

Backed by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Sonaram was given ticket by the party instead of veteran Jaswant Singh

BJP candidate Sonaram today filed nomination papers from Barmer constituency in Rajasthan.

He presented two sets of nominations, District Collector Bhanu Prakash told PTI.

Backed by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Sonaram was given ticket by the party instead of veteran Jaswant Singh.

The former Congress MLA had been vocal against former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and joined BJP last week. Sonaram was accompanied by his supporters here today.

Annoyed over the decision of the party to give ticket to Sonaram, Jaswant Singh filed nomination papers from the seat as an independent candidate yesterday.
