The body of Vijay Shankar, a resident of the district's trans-Yamuna region, was found hanging from the ceiling of the bathroom this morning, senior superintendent of the jail Kedar Nath said.
He said Vijay had been in jail since 2014 and was facing trial in the murder case of his own brother.
The post mortem report said Vijay died of asphyxiation.
Nath said no suicide note was found.
"However, we have learnt from other jail inmates with whom he appeared to have been close that he was upset over the fact that his family members were not supporting him in fighting the case and that he was afraid that he might face conviction," he said.
