The 48-year-old "Piku" star, calling 1990s a bad time for films, said things have improved for creativity in Bollywood.
"Earlier there was a time when the story (of films in) 50s, 60s and 70s used to remain in our minds. But that aspect of cinema was over as 90s was a bad time unfortunately that time has gone. Now the industry (Bollywood) is giving us opportunity to do something new and enjoy," Irrfan told reporters here last evening at an event.
From "Life In A... Metro" and "Dil Kabaddi" to "Paan Singh Tomar" and "The Lunchbox", the actor is known for bringing something new to the table with his every film.
When asked for his preference in roles, Irrfan said, "It is never ending thing. No actor can encompass the whole life in his career as there are so many aspects of life. This is just the beginning."
The actor confirmed being a part of the show but refused to divulge any detail, saying, "I am doing a show. But I am not in a position to talk about it."
A well know Indian name in Hollywood, Irrfan said he has agents abroad, who help the actor get work.
"Agent can't create work, he is a mediator. In Hollywood you can't survive without an agent you have to be a part of that system," he added.
He will be seen next in Meghna Gulzar's "Talvar", Sanjay Gupta's "Jazbaa" with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and American thriller "Inferno", directed by Ron Howard.
