A bomb hit a market in southwest Pakistan today, killing one person and wounding eight others, police said.
The bomb went off during rush hours in Bach Khan Chowk, the centre of Quetta city, the capital of Balochistan province.
Quetta Capital City Police Officer Razzak Cheema said one person was killed and 15 others including women and children were injured when the bomb planted in a motorcycle exploded.
The blast smashed windows of shops and also damaged vehicles parked nearby.
Cheema said initial investigations showed that around five kilogramme of explosives were used in the terrorist attack.
The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital Quetta where emergency was imposed to provide urgent treatment to those critical.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
Balochistan is home to a long-running nationalist insurgency aimed at seeking greater control over the province's rich oil, gas and mineral resources.
In a separate incident, three labourers were gunned down by militants at a construction site in Gwadar area in the province.
According to sources the militants also snatched weapons from Baluchistan Constabulary personnel deployed on guard duty in the area.
