The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court today quashed FIRs against the office-bearers of Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA).
The division bench of Justice Bhushan Gawai and Justice Indira Jain quashed and set aside the FIRs registered by the police on January 31, 2017.
Police had filed FIR under sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 336 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others) against the office-bearers of VCA at Hingna police station.
The police had charged the office-bearers for allegedly holding the India-England cricket match at Jamtha stadium on January 29 without required permission.
Similarly, one more FIR was filed for not complying with the conditions of theEnvironment Act.
VCA had then filed a petition in the HC over FIR against them.
