Budget allocation will give a boost to health care: Nadda

Union Health Ministry will have its hands full in the next fiscal as the government has linked its ambitious cleanliness drive to hygiene and allocated Rs 33,150 crore for setting up AIIMS in various states.
The Health Ministry has been given an outlay of Rs 33,150 crore for 2015-16 in the budget as the government proposes to set up five AIIMS in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Assam and Tamil Nadu and AIIMS-like institute in Bihar.
"It will provide a quantum jump in health care in these states and the neighbouring areas. The Health Ministry will implement these in the shortest possible time," Health Minister J P Nadda said.

The focus, he said, within the Budget on 'Swachch Bharat' and linking this with health care has broad-based health issues in the country.
This will lead to greater awareness among the people regarding the importance of cleanliness, he said.
Referring to the overall budgetary proposals, Nadda said it is balanced, progressive, pragmatic and pro-people, and "the budget will lead to all around social and economic development that is inclusive and outcome oriented."
He felt that the aspirations of various groups and regions of the country have been paid attention to in the Budget. "There is something for everyone in this Budget. Devolution of financial resources to the states will lead to balanced growth. The Centre has maintained commitment to national issues while empowering the states," Nadda said.
