Budget session of UP Legislature to begin tomorrow

The Budget Session of Uttar Pradesh Legislature starts tomorrow with opposition devising strategies to corner the government on communal flare ups and rising crime against women besides the Kumbh stampede. The session will start with Governor B L Joshi's address to the joint sitting of both Houses. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will present the 2013-14 budget on February 19. With an eye on the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Yadav might announce some populist schemes in the budget, his second since assuming power, and highlight achievements during the past 11 months especially in initiating the process of fulfilling promises made by the ruling SP in its election manifesto. During the session, spread over 26 sittings, some important bills are scheduled to be introduced.
