Claiming that nothing unholy can happen in the defence ministry and the defence deals, Chacko pointed out that the ministry has introduced a new "fool proof" system of integrity clause for any defence deals worth over Rs 300 crore. He said BJP resorted to similar tactics regarding the issue of a CBI prosecutor in 2G case allegedly being caught on tape sharing legal strategy with an accused even as the CBI Director made it clear that the counsel has been removed. "Unfortunately each and every issue is now being turned into a political issue by them. BJP is not going to get any benefit out of that. They have done it in past as well. Regarding the helicopter deal controversy, Digvijay Singh said, "I will request the BJP to suggest what more can be done in this because had this situation come during their tenure what would they have done. No person can be hanged or punished without proper investigation and CBI will investigate the case on its own."
