"There is no use for them.We cannot even use them for tilling the land as tractors are available. And as bullock carts are very rare now,we can only sell them for meat" Manikannan, a functionary of the 'Bravery Sports Association' said.
According to Vadipatti Cattle Market broker Sivasamy, bulls are being brought to the market for sale to the Butcher shop.
"The bulls, being trained in the sport, used to sell for prices ranging from Rs.50000 to Rs.One Lakh. Now they sell only for Rs.10,000.But now, even the Kerala Meat traders are not showing any interest to buy them," he told PTI.
All three urged the state government to seek review of the ban.
