Castorseed fell Rs 81 to Rs 4,252 per quintal in futures trading today as traders reduced their positions amid a weak trend at the domestic spot markets.
Marketmen said offloading of positions, tracking a weak trend at domestic markets due to absence of demand at prevailing levels and increased supplies form growing regions, mainly weighed on castorseed prices at futures trade here.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for delivery in October contract was trading down by Rs 81, or 1.87 per cent to Rs 4,252 per quintal, in an open interest stood at 1,36,780 lots.
On similar lines, delivery in current month (September) contracts plunged by Rs 78, or 1.83 per cent to Rs 4,187 per quintal, having an open interest of 1,11,650 lots.
