CBI has appointed its Joint
Director Policy as Chief Vigilance Officer to keep a tab on internal graft by the employees.
After the then Joint Director Policy Javeed Ahmed, who also looked after the charge of CVO, was repatriated to parent cadre of Uttar Pradesh on June 17, 2014, there was no formal announcement of a Chief Vigilance Officer.
"In pursuance of CVC's letter no NT-CVO-101/281198 dated April 17, 2015, R S Bhatti IPS (BH 1990), Joint Director Policy , CBI is appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer in Central Bureau of Investigation until further orders," an order issued yesterday said.
It is mandatory for every government department to depute a Chief Vigilance Officer which coordinates with Central Vigilance Commission and keeps a check on the internal corruption in a government office.
