"We have sought a report from the state government on the incident and the report is expected at anytime, " a top Home Ministry official said today.
The official said the Home Ministry has conveyed to the Punjab government that they must take all appropriate steps for the treatment and security of the girl's mother, who was seriously injured in the incident.
"It is expected that the state administration will ensure proper medical care for the injured mother of the deceased girl," he said.
The conductor and cleaner of the bus, reportedly belonging to a company owned by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's family, were today arrested by the police in connection with the horrific incident which occurred last evening near Moga.
