The Centre should not take any "unilateral" decision in haste in holding polls simultaneously for both Lok Sabha and State assemblies, TNCC president Thirunavukkarasu said today.
The government should hold talks with all political parties before taking any decision, he told reporters here.
On the goods and services tax, he said the highest 28 per cent tax was being levied only in India and there were many slabs and tax rates.
However, there were certain norms to levy taxes and the articles being used by the common and middle class people should have lower tax, he said.
Thirunavukkarasu also urged the Centre to bring Tamils, who were stranded in Nepal due to inclement weather, safely to Tamil Nadu.
