The chief minister offered 'argaya' to the setting sun at a pond built inside his 7 Circular road residence.
However, at a stone's throw away in the residence of former chief minister Lalu Prasad, the mood was electric, the reason being anybody's guess. The RJD has stormed back to power in Bihar after 10 years.
The former CM's all seven daughters and son-in-laws were present along with newly-elected MLA sons Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejaswi Yadav to participate in what is a special occasion for Lalu and Rabri.
Lalu Prasad supervised the function at 10 Circular Road residence and offered evening 'aragya'.
Talking to reporters, Prasad extended warm greetings to people on the occasion of Chhath.
His eldest daughter Misa Bharti along with her sisters were seen helping Rabri Devi, who stood in the pond.
Son-in-laws, including the Samajwadi Party MP from Mainpuri Tej Pratap Singh Yadav, offered 'aragya'. They were seen taking selfies with the mother-in-law on the occasion.
After completion of evening 'aragya', the devotees will now return tomorrow morning before sunrise to offer 'aragya' as part of worship to Sun God on the occasion.
Elaborate security arrangement has been made on the banks of the Ganga and ponds in Patna and elsewhere. NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) was patrolling the river banks.
