The child suffered multiple injuries in the tragedy in which a light aircraft carrying the child and his parents reportedly came down and overturned in a patch of woodland half a mile south of A303 (road) amid bad weather on Saturday afternoon.
Aviation experts said the pilot of the plane, believed to have been the boy's father, was attempting an emergency landing on a grass airstrip because conditions had become treacherous whilst they had been airborne.
Both Lewis Tonkinson, Advertising agency director, who turned 50 on New Year's Day, and his wife Sally, 44, from Alcester in Warwickshire, were pronounced dead at the scene near Popham airfield in Hampshire, The Telegraph reported.
George was flown by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital's specialist neurological unit where he is fighting for his life.
