Reacting to Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter signing of the 'Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement' (LEMOA) which evoked sharp reactions in the official media here, Hu Shisheng, Director of theChina Institutes of Contemporary International Relations affiliated to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said the US-India strategic alliance will create problems for China.
"The US-India alliance will lead to some problems in Sino-Indian ties. The US at a later stage may seek India's help in its Asia-Pacific strategy to cause some disturbance. If India is deeply inter connected with America, India can't refuse," he said.
"Also we are bordering with each other. We can mutually hurt each other badly, while US is living far away. So it is more imperative for China to build more comprehensive relations with India and also China will take mature view on Indian foreign policy with some other countries," Hu said.
"It is better for China to not to come out with knee jerk reaction. This kind of misperception and misunderstandings are rising. Top Chinese leaders and policy makers of both countries have to make more visits and communication to dilute and dispel misunderstandings," he said.
He had said China may militarily get involved and take joint steps with Pakistan if "Indian factor" was found in disruptingthe ambitious economic corridor.
