The updated curricula pattern had been implemented from the current academic year (2013-14) with the focus on improving the skill of engineering aspirants, he told PTI here on the sidelines of a graduation day at an engineering college near here.
On the admission for 2014-15 academic year, he said already 1.5 lakh applications for single window counselling conducted by the university had been sold in the last three days.
Stating that there were 570 engineering colleges, including 540 self-financing institutions affiliated to the university, in the state, he advised students to choose a college in their neighbourhood which would help them concentrate more on their studies and help their parents by cutting down on expenditure.
