Civic body clerk arrested for graft

A clerk of Suratgarh municipal corporation in Sriganganagar district was arrested today for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000 for registry of a shop.
The accused clerk, Rajkumar Chhabra, had demanded Rs one lakh as bribe from the shop owner Manoj Kumar but agreed for Rs 80,000, Additional SP, ACB, Parbat Singh said.
After verification of the complaint, a trap was laid and the accused was held while accepting the bribe, he said.
He has been arrested, the officer said.
