A civilian was injured when a hand grenade exploded at Hatta Golapati in Imphal late tonight, police said.
Unidentified persons lobbed the hand grenade at an oil pump, according to a police officer.
The injured was immediately rushed to a private clinic and discharged after being given first aid by the medical staff, the officer said.
The heavily populated area with a large number of security presence in its vicinity is known for illegal selling of drugs.
Extortion is likely to be the motive behind the attack, the officer said.
