Hillary Clinton not provided Blackberry by State Dept: Official

Clarification comes days after the FBI in an investigation report on Clinton's email scandal said that she used as many as 13 different devices

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was not provided with a State Department Blackberry during her tenure as the Secretary of State in the first term of the Obama administration, a senior US official has said.

The clarification from the State Department comes days after the FBI in an investigation report on Clinton's email scandal said that she used as many as 13 different devices during her tenure as the Secretary of State.

"I can't really speak to how many devices she may or may not have had in her possession. What I would say is -- and we've said this before -- is that she never had or possessed or was provided with a State Department BlackBerry," Toner said when asked about the FBI's report in this regard.

"All we can say is that she was never provided with a State Department Blackberry. But of course, we always take these kinds of reports seriously. We always take security, obviously very seriously. But I just don't have any more information to share about what may or may not have been contained on those personal devices," he said.

Toner said, based on his personal experience with Clinton she "seemed a very vital and dynamic and healthy person".
