The band will top the bill on May 24 at the annual music event, which takes place at Glasgow Green, reported Digital Spy.
The group stopped by the Radio 1 Live Lounge to make the announcement, as well as perform their current single 'Magic' and new track 'Oceans'.
"We are absolutely thrilled to have been asked to play Radio 1's Big Weekend in Glasgow this year," said drummer Will Champion.
"Playing in Glasgow is always so much fun and Radio 1 have always been wonderful to us so it couldn't really be any better!"
