BJP's Jharkhand unit president Laxman Gilua today said the common people were happy following the demonetising of Rs 500/Rs 1,000 notes, while the corrupt were stunned.
Welcoming the decision by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gilua said the central leadership was making efforts in rooting out fear, hunger and corruption.
As per the promise, BJP wanted to fully prevent black money in the country and in foreign countries and in this direction the Rs 500/Rs 1,000 notes were banned and new ones were being issued, Gilua said in a release issued by the party's state unit media in-charge Shivpujan Pathak.
For big reforms, Gilua said strong steps were required, adding while the common people were happy with Modi's decision and the corrupt were stunned.
Gilua said the step would end the axis of extremists, terrorists and the corrupt people while strengthening the economy.
Rajya Sabha member and BJP's Jharkhand unit treasurer Mahesh Poddar said the business community was with the Prime Minister.
When jawans could sacrifice for the country, the business community would also face the transit period, the release said.
Prasad said that Singh despite being the then Prime
Minister could not save his "guru" P V Narasimha Rao from insult even in his death as the Gandhi family did not allow his body to be taken inside the Congress headquarters.
"He has his own utility. I feel pity for him... This is his tragedy," he told a press conference.
The Rao government accorded Bharat Ratna to Sardar Patel and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in 1991 and 1992. "Was this the reason for the manner in which they treated Rao?" he asked.
It was Rao who politically empowered Singh, who served as Finance Minister under him, to go for major reforms.
While Congress accuses Modi of criticising it on foreign soil, it was Rahul Gandhi who trashed an ordinance approved by the Singh government when the Prime Minister was in the USA on an official visit, he said.
Prasad listed out several alleged scams that happened under the UPA government to target Singh, saying he maintained silence then and was using terms like "organised loot and legalised plunder" to attack demonetisation.
Asked if his government would probe Singh's involvement, he noted that probe in several cases had begun before the NDA came to power and asserted that "we are not into witch-hunt" and law would take its own course.
He also noted that several little known people who worked for the society were given Padma awards by this government.
