Compensation hiked for communal violence, terror attack deaths

The Bihar government today made a five-fold increase in compensation to Rs five lakh in case of death in case of attack by terrorists or naxalites and in communal violence.
The compensation amount has been increased from Rs one lakh to Rs five lakh, Principal Secretary, Cabinet Coordination Committee Brajesh Mehrotra told reporters after a Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The same compensation would also be available for deaths due to caste clash and election related violence, he said.
