Compensation to Una victims not paid: Cong in RS

A Congress member today claimed that the victims of the alleged beating up of Dalits in Una town of Gujarat have not been paid the entire Rs 4 lakh compensation even a fortnight after the incident.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha, Madhusudan Mistry said the state government had announced Rs 4 lakh compensation for the Una victims, but till now only Rs 1 lakh has been paid.
"Don't they have money or they don't want to give. Why is there an apathy on part of the government," he said and wanted to know by when the full compensation would be paid to the victims.

Kahkashan Perween (JD-U) demanded that toilets should be constructed every five kilometres on national highways and at toll plazas for women for the Swacch Bharat programme to be a success.
Agreeing with her, Deputy Chairman P J Kurien said it was a very genuine demand.
Satyanarayan Jatiya (BJP) raised the issue of villages being cut off during monsoon and demanded building of bridges under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana.

Shantaram Naik (Cong) workers of the Western India Shipyard Union at Mormugao port were on strike as they have not been paid salaries for four months, their PF not remitted and tax deducted on their salaries not deposited with Income Tax Department. He demanded immediate government intervention on the issue.

Renuka Chowdhury (Cong) raised the issue of shortage of regular teachers in a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Khammam district of Telengana.
She said of the 24 regular teachers, 19 have been shifted out in a "bulk transfer" and now only five teacher are left. Taking a jibe at the government, she asked if the the "ridiculus and arbitrary" transfer of teachers reflected its "wonderful new education policy".
