Raising the matter during Zero Hour amid din on Telangana and other issues, Congress member Thokchom Meinya said people from the Northeast were feeling alienated in the national capital.
He said that in recent times there have been growing "inhuman attacks" on the people from the Northeast, including the recent death of a student from Arunachal Pradesh, rape of a minor girl from Manipur and stabbing of Manipuri youths.
Observing that such attacks were becoming "too much", he urged the Union Home Ministry to ponder over the matter seriously as it was "highly injurious to the unity and integrity of the country. Enough is enough."
He sought urgent intervention of the Ministry and evolving of a long-term strategy to tackle the problem.
